Concurrent Session B4: Empowering ELLs: Literacy Strategies

This session will focus on resources and best practices to address the most critical question educators are asking themselves as individuals: what can I do right now, in this classroom and in this school, to ensure that my ELL is supported in the area of literacy? Participants will leave the session with a variety of resources, practices and strategies that can be put to immediate use in the school and the classroom. This session will focus on strategies that include building background knowledge, increasing academic vocabulary and literacy skills.
